My aunt was born in Oregon where physician assisted suicide is legal.

She was habitual smoker since she was in high school was eventually diagnosed with lung cancer.

But the diagnosis came too late. As it had progressed to the point where  recovery was very unlikely.

Under Oregon's Death with Dignity Act she could have elected to undergo physician assisted suicide.

However due to her religious convictions she declined and died soon after her diagnosis.

I share her belief that PAS is morally wrong.

However, I do see the benefits and comfort it offers some people.

I feel it would be wrong to force my view on others.
